Contact with the aged care industry raised, in the minds of three friends, a number of concerns about the conditions under which many older persons lived.
Despite the good intent of many industry practitioners, it was felt that a number of corporate suppliers were treating the industry as a mere opportunity for profit with little genuine regard for older persons.
The friends looked for a way that they could use their skills to take action for the aged. They felt that they could raise the standards of the services industry by using their skills to challenge the existing practices and delivering a paradigm shifting service solution.
Senior citizens deserve respect; and the good aged care provider deserves a service that delivers more than a mere contract. The idea of ‘Action For the Aged through Corporate Services’ took form as ‘AFA Corp’.
